Scissor lifts are an essential piece of equipment on many construction projects. To ensure an incident free workplace it is important to have operators adequately trained, a pre-use inspection performed, and a preventive maintenance program in place. In addition, watch for manufacturers periodic safety notices. Genie recently issued a bulletin for a software problem that allowed some lifts to be driven when extended above 22 feet, a potentially unstable situation. Please compare their bulletin against your scissor lift equipment inventory.
